April "Race" 7 Update

Race 7
1st Annual Starbucks ?k
April 2013

April was a super busy month! In the eleventh hour, Sarah and I headed to the trail at the local YMCA for our own "make-shift" outting. It was great! The weather was perfect! Scout was able to walk with us--so he was happy. We had our Starbucks in hand and the sun shining:) There were no PR's had on this outting. haha

A cute little family of turtles hanging out in the sun.

By the looks of Scouts tongue, this was taken after the walk!

Race 6 Recap: Shamrock Run & Walk, Indianapolis

Great morning to be outside! I think the only time the sun was out the entire weekend was during the race. It was perfect! The race was very well organized and had a lot of energy! We did a little post-race shopping—always a bonus!

Thank You, Sarah!  She did this race with me on the same weekend that she was moving! That is a true weekend warrior!

Race 6: Shamrock Run & Walk (Indianapolis)

O'Scoutahan
Dia duit! ( dee-a-gwith) “Dia dui” means “God be with you.” in Gaelic. Saturday, March 16th is the Shamrock Run & Walk in Indianapolis. The race is just a small part of the 33rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. There will be a parade, greening of the canal, and Shamrockin’  The Circle. We won’t make it to the parade because it is on Friday but looking forward to finding out what “Shamrockin’ The Circle” is all about.
I will post race update and pictures!

February Race Update: Tutu Run

Friends (check), Tutu (check), tennis shoes (check) Ready-Set-SNOW! Oh, no! Sadly, we did not make it to the Tutu Race. We ended up having to “bow out “and of course we did it gracefully in our tutus. Hopefully, next year we will make it up to the Tutu Run in Michigan. The race director was kind enough to send us our race shirts and tutus!
Looking forward to doing a St. Patrick’s Day race in March!

Sarah will seize any opportunity to wear a tutu. Christmas Run? Tutu! Zombie Run? Why, a tutu is in order, of  course! She is right. A tutu is just way tu tu fun! ugh. I know, I know a pun. The lowest form of humor. Way tu tu many puns on this blog. Sorry.

Ginger

I love animals. I love my dog. I love my cat. I love hearing  my friends talk about their furry or feathery family members. I don't think I could even trust someone who doesn't like animals. Sarah has shared many stories about Ginger the cat. Ginger is a cool cat. She is loved and she loves.

Race 5 Recap: Frigid 5k (New Year's Day!!)

The air was cold and the sky was blue in Warsaw for the Frigid 5k. It was the perfect day for the first run to welcome in the new year. The course took us around Winona Lake. Very pretty. The race was well organized and well marked. There were lots of friendly people on hand to encourage and direct the runners along the course. Scout is modeling the cozy fleece hat that took the place of the usual race t-shirt. Plan on making this race a New Year’s tradition!
Sarah!!

Next race (February), the Tutu Run in Kalamazoo!!!
